Our walk around Beverley

Our trip to the Beverley Minster, a beautiful old church that took 200 years to construct and was built from 1200-1400 AD. This is the village Mark was born in. Even Rowan enjoyed this beautiful historic building, he was so quiet the whole time.
This is the room inside the Minster where Mark sang with a Boys Choir.... imagine the acoustics in there!!

This is called "Wednesdays Market", a shopping district of Beverley. I love the cobblestone streets. We went to a tradional butcher shop to get a ham which we had for the funeral and I requested another one. It was the best ham I'd ever eaten in my life! I had to have another one before I left... It made me feel like I was living in a different time buying meat from a butcher who'd run the butcher shop for 58 years. He was 82 years old.
Some of our Dunning ancestors etched in glass at a local church just down the street from where Mark's parents live.
Rowan's favorite part of the day... feeding the ducks!
Well, today is my birthday! Since I'm in England I get to celebrate it for twice as long since my birthday started here 8 hours ahead!! We are going over to Audra's for a nice dinner and Suzette made her famous chocolate cake, which apparently has won baking awards, it's that good! I can't wait to try it... the smells alone last night were killing me! I wanted to dive in, but they won't even allow me into the kitchen! And, sadly... internet is gone after today... so when we get to Spain next week, I'll have more updates for everyone!

Happy Belated Birthday!! Are we ever going to be in town together again? I'm dying over all your pictures and travels and seeing where Mark grew up. It's like it's out of a movie or something. So proper! I can't wait to hear all about your travels and how that plane ride is. You two are so brave is all I have to say. I'll see you in a few weeks. Can't wait!

Uhmm, Scott isn't believing me about the water bottles...I'm still thinking about poor Rowan whimpering in the cold. Poor thing. Hope you enjoyed your BIRTHDAY HAM!!
