Ok, so which one first?? The good news is I ran 9.4 miles on Saturday!! It was amazing, and super fun. I am running on Saturdays with my dearest friend, Suzanne Davis. We are signed up to do this half marathon together (along with lots of other cute moms from our ward). It's so great, and I repeat, SO GREAT to run with someone on those long runs. We have the best time, talking and enduring! I have a little exercise-induced asthma so occasionally, I have a flare up so I have to breathe and endure through them (I'm sure I sound like a freight train coming up the hill!) but it's so nice to have someone there offering assurance and support! I'm really looking forward to this race. It's going to be so fun and I feel good about it. It's amazing to think that only a few short months ago, I ran 4 miles on a Saturday and thought THAT was pretty amazing, but scared to think I could ever run 13~ And now, at almost 10, 13 seems so do-able! It's been fun training and I hope to continue it...
Ok, BAD news... I did not get in to nursing school. For the split second of receiving the news, I was a little disappointed. But after that, I felt soo relieved! I was feeling so anxious about how I was going to juggle all of that... But now that I don't have to worry about that anymore, it's such a grand relief to know that we can focus on getting our little business started and I don't have to find some form of childcare for Rowan next year. I am going to apply again, but we'll see how things go. It's a tough process... they take 75% of the 60 students based on grades, and 25% pulled out of a hat. The grades part is given a score, 18 being the highest (straight A's). Well, I had all A's, one B+ in the important classes (which were taken at BYU) And they take the last semester of classes total GPA (unless you have a degree, which I have, then they take the GPA from the whole degree). My score would have been a 16, but because they took my cumulative GPA from BYU, I had a 14. Not high enough to get in, apparently, when the lowest score they accepted last semester was a 17. WHOA! So, there are a few things I can do, but if the scores continue to be that high, I don't stand much of a chance unless I retake the B+ to get an A, just to get accepted... so, we'll see. Anyway, it's a relief and both Mark and I are glad that we have more time to really get going with American Home Care.

Yeah Kristy! 9.5 miles! That is amazing. You will do great when the half marathon rolls around.
Don't worry about nursing school, that just means there is something else in the cards for you. Something better.
I'm sorry you didn't get in. When did you find out? You should have told me. I'm excited to have you around more though. AND...I can't believe you and Suzanne. It's pretty obvious to say I am NOT one of the moms from the ward doing that run. I'd seriously kill over on the side of the road - no joke! I'm so proud of you guys though. CONGRATS!
That is sad you didn't get in, but great that you look at the positives of it- more time with your boy (and hubby). I really admire you for running, I used to be so good at it, but I have a little asthma and I just don't have the motivation. Way to go Kristy!
Sorry about nursing school, I know that you really wanted to get in. But everything happens for a reason. More time with Rowan...I am envious! You are very lucky that you get to be a stay at home mommy. And about the running...WOW! You are amazing! Keep up the great work. I just pray I can get to 2 miles, hahaha!
It is interesting, as I read this post what came into my mind was, "a time and a season for all things". And from the sounds of it right now is your time to be a running super star! Good grief- you put me to shame! :) Way to go!!!!
Kristy,
Hey it is so good to hear from you. Your life sounds as busy and crazy as ours does. But it is fun right? Anyway, I can't wait to see you guys in July, especially Hadley! She always asks when she is going to see you! Sorry about nursing school, but staying home with kids is the best! (well as long as you get a little break every now and then!) Good luck on your marathon, that is awesome! Anyway talk to you later.
