illustrator 101 & other graphiky things

So, I have been dabbling in a little graphic design for our side businesses...
I picked up InDesign about 6 months ago and was able to create cool brochures
for our business and our clients... all self-taught with the help of
"Classroom in a Book" and online templates ;) Still a monster of a program with
so many cool features and design abilities, I've barely scratched the surface!
Then I got stuck not being able to enlarge or edit some logos
so we decided to add Illustrator to our little internal "design team"
(which consists of just little ol' me)
so I found an
online Illustrator class to help get me started
and this was my first week's homework assignment...
I'm LOVING this class. Really taps into the creative side of me...
the small and little side that it is.

I've been busy working on getting my girls' room ready for them to SHARE...
scary thought when sometimes, one of them wakes up in the middle of the
night screaming... so it's a bit risky right now, but when are they ever
not going to wake up and scream?
I just need to get brave and do it!

I thought this might be kind of cute framed in their room :)
I am really enjoying this class....
If you are interested, here's the
link. They are GREAT, so professional
and just awesome.
I highly recommend it!

And for your viewing pleasure.... THIS is what I can only hope to aspire to:
my mother's handiwork:

She is now teaching classes.... if you are in the Rigby area or want to travel there..
please let her teach you! She is a fountain of knowledge and has been in the photography industry for a long long time... she has won numerous awards and just recently JUDGED the Eastern Idaho State Fair. She is amazing!! I'm so blessed to have her guidance and teaching.

Love it all! YOu and your mom both are so talented. I would love to get into more of the design aspect too. Now I'm regretting not buying the whole package instead of just cs5 when I got zach's student discount!
