our birthday boy

this was riding the "Jungle Cruise" at Disneyland today...
(excuse the bad picture.... from my iPhone)
I'm so bad and grabbed my camera but no memory card :(
he's SO funny.
Talks about this ride constantly (the hippos, the boat, the rhino)
and asks to ride it everytime we go to Disneyland...
but when he's on it, he hides down by my feet, covers his eyes,
(and sometimes SCREAMS bloody murder when the guide shoots the gun at the hippos)

today he turned THREE.
I can't believe it how fast that time went by...
he went from this:
5 weeks old.
Christmas 2006

to this crazy baby:
1 year.
October 2007.

to this sweet (but still crazy) toddler:
2 years.
October 2008.

to this active and bright little boy:
3 years.
October 2009.

we are so proud of our growing boy.
one of my most favorite traits of his is that he loves everyone.
he's very thoughtful and doesn't want anyone to be left out.
wherever we go, whoever we are with, Rowan makes sure they COME with!
(or usually there are tears...)

he's a very passionate person with such a zeal and excitement for life!
he loves to sing, listen to music, and dancey dance.
he's left-handed and left-footed and kicks a MEAN soccer ball down the length of our yard!
he's very bright and loves to read books. he gets attached to one story which has to be read for weeks on end until a "new" story is introduced:
currently, it's "I Wish I Had Duck Feet" - Dr. Suess.

today was such a special day with him!
we left Sarah & Shelby with a sitter and took him to Disneyland just Mark & I!
SO much fun!
(and so nice not to pack around tons of diapers, snacks, bottles,
formula, baby stuff, triple stroller... I could go on and on)
we rode Buzz Lightyear, Nemo, Autopia, Jungle Cruise, Pirates,
danced in the street with the celebration parade,
and had so much fun with our little BOY.

Happy Birthday, Rowan.
You have lit up our lives.
We love you SO much.
