whale watching & man trucks

Monday we went whale watching and what a great day!  The water was so calm.  We saw SO much sea life, it was great.
Seriously, how cool is this?!?
Rowan couldn't have been more excited!  After he overcame his seasickness, that is.  For the first 20 minutes he buried his head under the table draped across Mark's lap.  He may have been a little scared, not sick - we couldn't tell.  He just didn't like the rocking of the boat until we pointed out the dolphins... then he was on his feet, dancing and jumping around having a great time with all his friends.
These 2 are just hilarious together!  They laughed and danced around the whole time!
This part of the boat was great for pictures!  It was so bright out on the water, but right here where it was all white and in the shade... it reflected the light so beautifully on these kids!  I was super camera happy...
I mean really.... could she be any CUTER?!?  I love taking pictures of this girl... she is just so darling.
She is SO fun to photograph!  And, if you want to see more of this beauty... check out her Dad's pictures of her!!  Just gorgeous!
And, this is pretty much the face we got the whole day from Sarah... not happy!  She was such a wiggly we had to quarantine her to her stroller!  All she wanted to do was crawl around the boat and it was wet and cold... so she got to sit and eat crackers... but don't feel bad for her.  She had kids playing all around entertaining her to no end.... then sweet little Ella joined her and they both reclined their seats and were lulled to sleep by gentle waves.
And that's what we got from Rowan when the boat docked and it was time to get off.
Now this is what Mark's been working on lately... besides our taxes.  He sold his Honda Civic Hybrid and bought a 2001 Ford F-150 natural gas truck (for the car pool lane access & $1.60/gallon at the tank).  It used to be purple.  It used to be low to the ground.  It used to have junky little tires.  It used to play the radio and tapes only.  Volume up was actually volume down.  It used to belong to the City of San Bernadino.  The previous city employees loved Carls Jr.  because their garbage had piled up and around the natural gas tanks in the back.  When I first saw it... I was afraid to tell Mark that I thought he was nuts!  Little did I know that my husband was a Man with a VISION.  As I write this, we both are quite sad we didn't get a "before" picture... because it would have made this blog post much more interesting!  We've had this truck since January and slowly it's been transformed into the MAN TRUCK that you see above.

(Side note: My Dad has this metal work building in Idaho.  It's all his.  He has a secluded office there he works out of.  He hangs all his deer, moose & elk heads there.  Even his stuffed grizzly bear is there.  He parks his trucks and his toys there.  He works on his snowmobiles... his motorcycles.
It's called the MAN BOX.
And that is why I'm calling Mark's truck, the MAN TRUCK.)
And this is his MAN BIKE.
And this is what he does.  Shoots MAN PAINT with his MAN GUN with these guys.

And, while he's doing that,  I am getting massaged at Burke Williams and enjoying my cucumber water and a quiet hot shower... and doing my makeup without any interruptions.

I know this may sound like we have the "life", but this particular Saturday was about 2 years coming for both of us.  I redeemed a gift certificate I got from my dear sweet Kristen for my birthday (2 and a half years ago).  And Mark has literally been working the past 4 Saturdays!  The night before we got a date night out and it had been months.  And, of course... We cruised around the Spectrum in his MAN TRUCK... me very large with child, sat in the middle seat, rocking out (with his new stereo) feeling like we were dating again!  It was so fun and so needed!

I'm so glad you guys were able to enjoy some relaxation. I'm in need of that too. The whale watching looked amazing. I would love to do that. By the way...you look great.

From the wife of the Idaho ManBox! Just want to tell my California Son-in-law that he will definitely fit in with the Idaho Rednecks - alias Kenny!
Looks like you had a good day - and your truck looks brand new - would have never suspected it was from the junkyard!
I will make sure to let the 'Bishop' see these great pixs of the Saturday ride. But he might be more interested in seeing the pixs of his cute little grandchildren.
Kristy - great shooting - love the images!
