rowan update

So little Rowan isn't so little anymore! This is his "lamby" which he loves, drags that around everywhere. He's 9 months old and overnight (it seemed) became a little crazy boy... He's so much fun, we can't get anything done around here anymore! Mark works from home a few days a week and loves to play with him in between conference calls and emails... I, on the other hand, am so behind on my "spring cleaning" it's ridiculous. You know what I'm talking about, that list you make of virtually everything you want to do in your house (closets to clean, windows, blinds, garage reorganization, new plants for the yard, etc. etc. it's endless) and since spring I've only done about a third of my list and it's almost fall; I'm 2 seasons behind... Martha would be so disappointed. But I am very happy that one big project has been completed - our new patio cover! It's so beautiful and adds another room to our house, plus gives us much needed shade for our yard and kitchen/living rm! We have some cute furniture out there now and I just need to get a rug so when I'm finished with my "list" I can tackle my other list of books to read and Rowan can play out there while I read... (like that will ever happen! but it's a nice thought...)

So here's the latest update with this crazy child of mine...

1. He loves real food, not baby food from a jar. It felt like all out war with him because he wouldn't eat anything but rice cereal and his pedicatrician gave me that look like "you bad mom" so I heeded every word of his advice and it actually worked! He told me a good "cook"book for babies and I started making the stuff and it is really yummy! Now I can eat a bite and he eats a bite and we're all not gagging.

2. He's CRAWLING! He started at my parents house 3 days before we came home... the credit goes to my uncle Ron. He got on all fours and was "teaching" him how to do it... it was all laughs for us but Rowan really listened! He's a maniac too... he'll throw a toy, then "chase" it down, and throw it again, chase it down, it's a super fun game he invented and he loves it.

3. He's jabbering like a pro. His name for me & Mark is "mom-mom". Seriously the cutest thing ever. He wakes up every morning saying it over and over again until we go and get him. Just melts my heart.

4. He kisses himself. He loves the mirror in my bathroom and will squeal and laugh at himself then bonk his head right against it with an open mouth and kiss "himself".

We are having so much fun with him! I want him to slow down now... I tell him to 'just stay little like this so I can hug and kiss you and you won't wrestle away from me'. It can't be stopped! My doctor kept saying "you are entering the toddler stages" and I about cried. No, not toddler! Baby. Does this mean that the only way to keep a baby is to have another one?!
