my little monster

rowan is officially a monster. he screams (shreaky, high-pitched w/clenched fists) when he wants something. he makes a fast bee line for the stairs any chance he gets. after playing the piano for a few minutes and forgetting to baracade the stairs, I ran to the living room to find him all the way at the very top, turned around face first coming back down... about 2 seconds from tipping over and tumbling down the entire staircase toward the hardwood floor. I felt like SUCH a bad mom. he's a crazy, silly little boy who loves to have fun. he knows what it means when you say "I'm going to get you!" because he squeals with delight and crawls away looking over his shoulder to make sure you are coming!!

we are having so much fun with him, though. what a character he is, always smiling, giggling and BUSY! this kid has things to do ALL day long. it's so fun to watch him play with his toys, he's so serious, like it's his job to mess up our house... :) he loves to "read" all by himself. he lays on his back and holds the book (my distraction of choice when changing his diaper - a near impossibility these days) and babbles as he turns the pages. And music has the greatest calming effect on him. no matter what's going on or what state he's in (tired, hungry), play music and his attention is completely focused on it. Whether it's singing or playing the piano or even the radio, he loves hearing music. I just can't believe he's 10 months old already.
this year has flown by! he's started to say a few little words, "whoa" (his favorite when crawling up the stairs) and "ball" only it sounds like "bauwww" (what he says when he's kissing and admiring himself in the mirror). he still says "mom-mom" and "dad" but hasn't really associated us with those names yet. it's so fun to watch his little personality unfold every day.he's certainly not afraid of anything and chases those curiosities every chance he gets!

Kristy! He sounds like the BEST baby! I am so glad that you are enjoying him. I wanted Haven to grow up so quick. I couldn't wait for her to walk, talk, etc.! You have to really cherish every moment! That is what I know now. What a good, darling little guy he is! I LOVE that he likes to sit with books. Nothing could be cuter!

Kristy you are such a good photographer! Really, you must have inherited those genes from your momma. Have you learned some good things in your class? I love all of the pics of Rowan. He is such a doll!

Can I just say that you are a great photographer. I'm going to hire you to take pictures of my kids. I am terrible at it and I never remember to take any! Maybe I need some lessons or something! By the way your little boy is adorable. He sounds just like Landon when he was his age.

What a busy little boy, he is! The stairs make me so nervous too...in fact the other night Jim said to me, "Does Ezra crawl up the stairs yet?" and i said, "No." Jim replied, "Well, he does now!" He was halfway up them and I had no idea! Yikes!!
Anyway, too cute...he and Ez will have to play when they are rowdy little toddlers!

I can't believe how big he's getting. That's it! We're getting together ASAP. Too bad we have family in town tomorrow to Tuesday, but after that I'm a free woman. If we don't at least go to lunch before England I don't know what to do with myself. I love all those pictures of him outside too. Total boy...nothing better!
