Today was the big HALF MARATHON! It was so much fun, I loved it! It was beautiful and scenic and a great experience. I ran the entire way (no walking - my first goal), and I finished in under 2.5 hours (my second goal)! That's the good news! Now for the tragic events that took place AFTER the race... So, about 20 minutes after I finished, I'm jumping around so psyched that I just ran 13 miles when I stop and think, "oh boy, I don't feel so good"... I drink some water, eat part of a banana, then start stretching... "oh boy, I REALLY don't feel so good." Mark and I start walking around to all the booths when I see a chair, "I think I'll just sit down for a minute"... Next thing, I'm throwing up, head is between my knees and I'm about as pale as paper. Mark is chatting away to a friend in our ward, oblivious to my dire situation - a woman passes by, asks me if I'm ok, when I'm semi-responsive, she calls for backup. Two EMTs arrive on the scene, by now Mark takes notice and rushes to my aid. They take my blood pressure and it's 80/50 which is apparently very low and then argue over what's wrong with me, was it my electrolytes? No, I drank too much water? No, I'm pregnant? No, it was my inhaler? It went on and on until they finally decided I needed to go to the hospital... all the while I start perking up and feeling better! But every time I lifted my head, there was this rush of nausea, so they decided it was time for the stretcher. Yes, I ran 13.1 miles and was carried, no wheeled off the field on a stretcher! Yes, I covered my eyes with my own two hands to avoid eye contact from my fellow runners... all staring and wondering,"What happened to her?" I actually heard a little girl ask that to one of the EMTs! I was so embarrassed. They took me in the ambulance to Mark's car then I went home to crash on the couch before the best shower I've ever taken in my life. So, here are some pictures!! And, as soon as I download the video clips, you'll be able to see me cross the finish line AND get wheeled off on the stretcher (don't I have the greatest husband??? He filmed me in my best and worst moments....) I can't help but love him! It's the funniest video clip I've ever seen and I can't stop laughing.
My proud moment!

You women are crazy! I am in for the next one, and then we can barf together after! I am glad to hear you made your goals and are ok to tell about it!
Whoa, that sounds crazy Kristy! You are amazing. I hope you are feeling better now. I was rolling when I read that your husband didn't even notice, silly men!
Oh my gosh I am so proud of you!!! I seriously got teary eyed reading about it- you are awesome. And the barfing in public is classic, when I am prego I tend to do that occasionally and it is so mortifying. Love how you were carried out in style too :) WAY TO GO KRISTY!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT! First off - so proud of you girls, but secondly - I wasn't sure to laugh or be sad when reading your story. So stinkin' crazy. Are you feeling better. I might need to come help you out and give you a hand after all the help we got this weekend. I'll call you later today. Congrats! I'll be honest...I don't think I could ever do it!!
