Superbowl Sunday

Started out by making a cake (Rowan's first time).
He was really good at pouring the cake into the pan.
But, the best part was licking the bowl!  Or just dipping his fingers right into the pan.  Baking kills all the "kid germs" right?
Since we aren't true football fans, we decided to get dressed up in our Christmas jammies (cuz who only wants to wear those once?!) and learn how to tackle the ball.
Tackling turned to Tickling.
And, when that cry for help came...
I intervened,
Stole some kisses,
And, ended our Superbowl fun with an early bedtime... mean ol' Mommy (that's what you get when your church gets out at 4 - no naps... and you know they're tired when on the way home from church they talk about going "nite-nite with tiger & monkey")

On another note...
We spent some time yesterday at Laguna Beach.  And, yes.  This is why we live in California... so we can enjoy beautiful 78 degree sea weather on the last day in January after 2 long weeks of suffering through bad stuffy noses, scratchy coughs, ear infections, too much tylenol, white dust everywhere from the humidifiers, and sad droopy eyes.  It was just what the doctor ordered.
Rowan enjoyed his first frozen yogurt... his shirt enjoyed it too.
My Saturday morning didn't start out with any intentions of making it a beach day.  We went straight to Kids Doc to check Sarah's ears (Rowan was happily recovering with his Z-pack) and I was so fed up with this VIRUS (what I've been told all 3 times we'd been in to see a doctor in those 2 weeks) that I wanted to demand a Z-pack for my little girl too!  Just didn't seem fair to watch one child feel better and the other one feel worse.  But after unpacking my kids from the car and seeing hoards of people sitting OUTSIDE the office door, I knew I didn't have the patience to wait all day just to have them say, "it's a virus" - so we treated our little Sarah to some alternative medicine.
Oh, and Rowan got a bike!!  Hasn't figured out the pedals yet, but it won't be long.

Well, that's our latest!  We are counting down the days until our little girl is here!  Counting them SLOWLY, I might add... we aren't ready for this.

I can't believe how big Rowan is getting! He is totally a little boy now. So sorry to hear about the sickness that has taken over your household... nothing worse. But a beach day in January sounds absolutely fabulous to me!!!

Wow! Sounds like a good time was had by all. I'd love to visit California someday but for now ~ living in Florida is just perfect.

Hi Kristy,
We are excited to see you next week.
Love the cute pictures - but this ole' grandma wants to know what 'alternative' medicine you are referring to.
Is this before you finally got Sarah on antibiotics?
Love, Mom

Umm, Mom - the 'alternative medicine' was the SUNSHINE and nice breeze? Doesn't that make anyone feel better when they are sick? ;) Excited to see you too!!!!
