So, it's been a blur these past few weeks. Between working for American Homecare, switching nannies, Christmas shopping/baking/party planning not to mention my music responsibilities AND getting a horrendous cold.... life has been a blur to say the least. But in all the hussle and bussle, there have been small miracles take place all around me in which I'm so grateful for.
First of all, my dear friend Katie. She saved me from my no-show nanny and watched Rowan while I ran to some appointments one afternoon. I have been brought to tears every time I think about what she did for me that day. It's a true friend who will clean up your child's messy pooey blow-out, bathe him in her kitchen sink, greet you with a smile wearing you baby's poo on her white shirt and give you the biggest most needed hug of the year! I don't think Katie knows all that she did for me that day and how much it meant to me. She is an angel and performed the first of my Christmas miracles.
Second, my sweet neighbor Laura. After coughing and hacking away for days, and giving Rowan the humidifier (who knew you needed two?!), she so willingly gave me hers for me to use, then took Rowan for the night this past Saturday so Mark and I could attend our Ward Christmas party together. It hasn't been easy for anyone to watch Rowan these days with his apparent stomach problems and the same cold I've had! It was quite the feat for her and her son Ethan to get Rowan to sleep that night, but they rocked and sang and soothed him to sleep like the angels that they are. My second Christmas miracle.
Third, my dear friend Shari. She worked a miracle today. As the Music Chairman, I've been helping pull off the 45 minutes of music for the 23rd of December's Christmas program. Since we will be out of town and the choir was practicing after church tying up the director and the pianist, I was left to help out a small group of children with their song. Since I was sick last week and didn't go to church, I sent poor Mark on a wild goose hunt to find someone to help them sing it! Needless to say, after last week - it was scary as to whether these kids could pull this off! But today, Shari worked an absolute miracle with them. I played the piano so they could sing with the accompaniment and Shari directed them. It was perfect! We even had the violinist come in and play his part with us. It was perfect and my third Christmas miracle.
And, last... my sweet husband. He has been so amazing this week, waking up early to get Rowan ready for the day letting me sleep in, picking up Spicy Thai (our favorite Thai food in the world, but happens to be in Huntington Beach by our old house) when traffic was bad and didn't even get home until after 7 pm, cleaning up Rowan's toys, doing dishes (!), cleaning up my entire table at the Christmas party (one of my responsibilities), feeding Rowan, boiling the water and peeling potatoes when I completely forgot I was supposed to make garlic mashed potatoes for the Ward party and had to sprint to the store to pick up some of the ingredients!! Seriously, my list goes on and on of the tiny miracles he performs each and every day. He just brought me my favorite drink (cranberry juice and 7up) with a straw! My everyday miracle, the best husband I could ever ask for.
And finally tonight, I was able to give back and maybe pass along a small Christmas miracle for someone else. We went to the Sunrise Senior Home tonight with some members of our Ward Choir to sing for the residents there. What a wonderful opportunity to serve those sweet people. I'll never forget the look on their faces while singing "O Christmas Tree" as some of them were singing along with us, and others were closing their eyes enjoying every note. Mark went around to each one of them with Rowan asking their names and holding their hands. It was a wonderful night and I am so grateful for the wonderful Christmas miracles around me each and every day and my opportunity to share in those miracles for others.
Merry Christmas to you all.

Hey! I'm sorry you've been so sick! That's tough! It must be so nice to have all those miracles though! I hope to see you soon! Although it sounds like you won't be in town the day after I get back! Bust! Hopefully I'll see you sometime during the 2 weeks I'm visiting! Love you guys! Call if you need anything!
What wonderful friends you have, Kristy! Makes life much better.
I talked to Mikelle the other night. She's doing well, still living in SLC.

So glad that we could help out in some small way to make your life a bit easier during this busy time of year. Rowan was a doll, just a normal little boy who wanted to play with the big boy all night long! Ethan loved having him over and still asks about him. Have a wonderful holiday with your family.
We love you guys Kristy! It was so nice to hear about all your Christmas miracles. And despite all this craziness, you still had time to drop off some to-die-for treats? You are my hero for all that you do! We miss you guys, and need to get together after the new year. Ian needs his Rowan fix! I really mean it that Rowan is the main reason Ian wants to have a baby soon :).
Kristy - I would do this anytime. How could I call myself a true friend if I didn't wear you kids poop!! ha! I hope you are feeling better and learning to take on less and de-stress. You deserve it. Idaho will be a welcome vaca!
