Thanksgiving in San Fran

We spent Thanksgiving with Kristen & Adam in San Fransisco and it was such an enjoyable trip! We loved our time there and despite the long 9 hour drive with Rowan (he actually did surprisingly well considering he watched baby einstein over and over again the whole day!) We had the most beautiful weather and the food was incredible! Kristen and I tackled most of the dishes (besides the turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes) including 2 different sweet potato dishes (oh so delish), the green bean casserole (YUM! my fav) and Rhodes rolls (another big YUM), corn (must be mixed on your plate with the potatoes and gravy - an Idaho tradition), homemade cranberry sauce (WOW!) and the Munns' famous peanut butter pie (incredible!). I must admit being pregnant during Thanksgiving is the absolute BEST! Especially at this great stage of being 4 months along without any more nausea and plenty of room to stuff myself with lots of food! I loved this dinner so much that I want to replicate it again (like on Sunday... ha ha) but of course, I won't cuz Christmas is JUST around the corner and I'll have my mom to spoil me with her yummy food! Here are some great pictures from the trip - Enjoy!
Rowan practicing to open wide for turkey, although the poor kid was so exhausted he crashed out for 3 hours in Mithona's pack-n-play... poor little boy missed his Thanksgiving!! Oh well, he enjoyed the leftovers....Since I couldn't get the food on my plate fast enough, I forgot to take a picture of it BEFORE we started eating it, so here is a funny picture of the half-eaten goods!

It has become a Dunning tradition to take a nice long walk after Thanksgiving dinner in attempt to burn off a smorsel of the calories consumed, so we walked all around a fancy part of San Fran (Kristen, you'll have to remind me of where that was!) and let Rowan swing at the park (which he cried profusely when we removed him from the swing and back into the stroller - not a happy moment). But here he is, happy again because Adam gave him the stroller ride of his life! Who needs a boring ol'swing when you've got Uncle Adam to push you around!
Kristen was so sweet to watch Rowan for us so that we could run down to the Golden Gate Bridge and watch the sunset... although a little traffic set us back a few minutes and it was pretty dark when we got there! But still so pretty....

This is how Kristen and I found our husbands at night - laptops watching some "To Catch a Predator" show or sports!

Of course we had to get up early on Saturday and wait in line for Mama's Monte Cristo breakfast sandwich... I am seriously stumped as to how something simple like ham, cheese, and bread made like french toast can taste so amazingly good! I've tried to make it and can't even come close!

Thank you so much, Kristen & Adam! We had such a great time and loved spending Thanksgiving together. Kristen is 3 weeks away from having that little boy and we can't wait!! Love you guys.

What a fun way to spend Thanksgiving! I am loving all the sweet Rowan pictures. Also, your half-eaten meal pic is hilarious; of course, though, Martha Stewart that you are, it still looked gorgeous and tasty.
