Reading Tag!

So, I was just tagged by Katie Monson with my Top 10 Reading List... I love to read and seriously wish I had more time!! It is difficult with a one year old, I must admit... Scriptures come first and that's all I can stay awake for most of the time!

So, I tried to organize my thoughts with which books I could list in true Top 10 fashion... but sadly, I'm too tired so this will have to be in random order -

1. THE HOT ZONE (Remember the movie "Outbreak"? Back when I was obsessed with the whole field of Microbiology and thought the coolest job ever would be a Hot Zone Investigator for the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, Georgia... honestly, I was a nut about this kind of stuff... even my Micro professor at BYU tried to get me to major in Micro... but I was too social! The thought of working in a lab behind a microscope all day was just too boring, as much as I loved learning about all the bugs!)
2. THE KITE RUNNER (I read this book out loud, yup the whole thing, and it's long... to Mark while we drove to Idaho - of course it took us longer than 3 hours to read it so we'd stay up late every night until we finished it. It was so worth it!)
3. A PAINTED HOUSE (This was the first non-law firm story written by John Grisham... Ok, I cheated and listened to this book on tape, but it is an amazing story.)
4. THE WEDDING (The sequel to The Notebook, seriously an awesome love story. I finished it on a plane to the east coast sitting between 2 men and it was really difficult to conceal my tears!!)
5. EXPECTING ADAM (Ok, the author is Martha Beck, she is Hugh Nibley's crazy daughter, but this book is awesome for anyone pregnant... she is a great writer and this book will make you fall in love with children with Down's Syndrome if you aren't already)
6. TWILIGHT (Ok, this is that crazy teen book but a such a cool twist on the impossible relationship, I read it in 2 days in Spain without Rowan, so it was easy to get through without any interruptions - oh, did I mention reading it laid out on a beach chair listening to the waves of the Mediterranean in the background? Yeah, don't be jealous.)
7. A BEND IN THE ROAD (Another Nicholas Sparks classic... )
8. 7 HABITS FOR HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE (Only because I love Steven Covey, and the book was pretty good, not life changing, but useful. I used to serve him at Outback when I was at BYU and he was way too nice to me even when I did tease him by saying "Put First Things First, Steve and order some dessert! Come on, Be Proactive!" ha ha... he always laughed though, such a great guy.)
9. BELIEVING CHRIST (It was even more awesome when I heard Stephen Robinson speak at Time Out for Women - he is amazing... and who doesn't love the Parable of the Bicycle?)
10. THE BOOK OF MORMON (All I have the time for these days... but if I had to give this list a rating, this would be my favorite book).

Ok, I TAG:

1. Erin Jensen
2. Liz Silverthorne
3. Kristen Anthony

*because I know you 3 love to read... and I want your lists...

I loved Expecting Adam... such an honest and thought-provoking book. But you are right...that lady is a little crazy.

Hi Kristy! It was so great to hear from you. Your family is absolutely darling. Your life looks so glamorous! So I loved your book list but I have to say you are totally missing one of the best books ever written! Have you ever read These Is My Words. One of the greatest, and cleanest, love stories. You have to check it out and let me know.

Love the list Kristy. I love that you gave a small description as well. I should have thought of that. My cousin made this tag up the other day to get some new books to read and I'm so glad she did! I'm getting some great ideas. It will be fun to see where this goes. I'm glad we have such great taste together! ha!

hey sister dunning that comment previously posted that says it's posted by erica it was actually from me. My roommate was signed in to google and I didn't know she hadn't signed off and commented before I noticed but I know that she would say the same thing.

Hey sister dunning! That comment from Erica was actually from me. She had signed in and I didn't notice so I commented using her name. oops. But what's funny is that she would say the same thing. :) But yeah like I said I love The Book of Mormon too!
