On Monday, I couldn't take it any longer and decided to clean out my bathroon and reorganize... I bought all these great organizing trays courtesty of Martha Stewart, she suggests using kitchen utensil trays in your bathroom drawers to organize brushes, bobby pins, make-up, etc. It actually works great and looks so much better in there! Although, I bought this exandable shelf to go under the sink and as I opened it and got it expanded, it was too long for that space... So, I pushed extra hard (with all this new muscle strength I've gained from packing around a 20 lb. kid) to make it smaller but it was stuck, so I pushed even harder, it released and came smashing into my fingers!
The left ring finger got it the worst! I hopped around and screamed which made Rowan cry, it was the worst pain I'd ever felt from a finger smash. I thought I'd broken it for sure! It immediately swelled up, turned black and blue and was so tender and sore... Perfect timing when I have to play 2 very hard songs on the piano and the guitar for a Youth Musical Fireside tonight! Luckily, I have a great ward and found some last minute replacements!! But after an x-ray, no broken bones, just a "hematoma" which would need to be drained within the next few days... yikes!
So, guess who decided to take that job??? Dr. Mark to the rescue! Yes, I trust my husband THAT much to stick a needle in my nail... He did an excellent job, I must say. It didn't hurt at all! He heated up a needle and just barely stuck it through the nail to release all the pressure... Who knew the guy that passed out from one drop of blood could perform a mini-surgery like that? He is amazing! It looks and feels a million times better (I can type now!) and aside from hole in my nail (manicure please?) I am a very pleased patient! But, I didn't post any pictures of it because it's pretty nasty... didn't want to gross anyone out.
Oh and Rowan's new thing is cows. He loves "Old MacDonald"! His Nanna & Granddad from England brought him an "Old MacDonald" book which he loves to read every single day... so I started showing him "Baby MacDonald" baby Einstein and he freaks out when the cows come on. He squeals and laughs and gets so excited! It's the cutest thing... maybe he'll decide to be a farmer like his Granddad Geoff and great Grandpa Ted (who he has a remarkable resemblance to... some of his facial expressions are totally my Grandpa Ted, it's crazy.) Well, that's the news for this week! I am super excited for Girl's Camp, Mark's Birthday, and our trip to Idaho!

Okay...you're family is having more health issues than I know what to do with! Are you okay? Do you need a yummy dinner brought by? You do have a bum finger and all - so it might be difficult to cook. I hope you got my message last week. It has been so crazy here that I haven't had time to sit still until yesterday. I hope everything went okay. Let me know. Call me if you need some TLC. Ha! :)
Um, there is no way I could deal with a needle in my nail. That freaks me out! Props to Mark. I couldn't perform that procedure either. Which finger is it? Can you get stuff done? Need any help? Naomi and I are just hanging out, so give us a call!
Ouch! hope you're feeling better now. I thought I had already left a comment on here but apparently I didn't. Hmm.
hey kristy...thanks for the comment. I feel like I am now part of the club! Ok, savvy blogger that you are, where did you get your cute template/background? I love it!
You are brave to let Mark go at your nail like that....kudos to him! Can't wait for our next play date....we went to the Avendale pool with Blair and Kim on Saturday--gotta love Ladera! It was so nice, so we will definitely be going back.
Hi Kristy...I'm adding you to my Blog addiction. I'm amazed that you are typing sans ring finger and all. Hope that it's doing better and maybe Rowan will prefer to keep his ten cows than use them to buy a wife when he is older.
